Using the Explore Dashboard

Setup on the web · gameplay in Discord

The Tinglebot Explore Dashboard is where you create expeditions, join with a character and items, start the run, and use the shared expedition page to see live state, the map, progress log, pins, and path images.

All exploration actions (/explore roll, move, secure, grotto trials, etc.) still happen in Discord. The dashboard is for setup and reporting discoveries back to the community map.

Open the dashboard at https://tinglebot.xyz/explore (login required for most features). For the full world map outside expeditions, visit https://tinglebot.xyz/map.

Getting There & Logging In

Discord auth on the Tinglebot dashboard

Open Explore on the Tinglebot dashboard.

  • Log in with Discord to create an expedition, see Your expeditions, join (character + items), place pins, and upload path images
  • Not logged inyou'll see a short explanation and a Login with Discord button; you can still open shared expedition links to view the page (party preview before start; live map and log after start)
  • Create expeditionregion cards (banner + start square). Click Create expedition/explore/E123456
  • Share the linkeveryone opens the same expedition page to join
  • Join an expeditionenter an Expedition ID (e.g. E123456) and click Open
  • Your expeditions (logged in) — expeditions you created (not every run you joined): ID, region, status (Open / In progress / Ended / Failed), square & quadrant · click a row to open · Open runs disappear after 24 hours if never started

Typical flow

  1. Pick a region

    Eldin (Rudania · H5 Q3), Lanayru (Inariko · H8 Q2), or Faron (Vhintl · F10 Q4).

  2. Create expedition

    Click Create expedition. You're taken to /explore/E123456 — share that URL so others join on the same page.

  3. Everyone joins

    Each player picks a character in that village and 0–3 items (up to 4 members total), then someone Start expedition when ready.

  4. Play in Discord

    Use Open thread on the expedition page. Take turns with /explore while watching live stats and the map on the dashboard.

Expedition Page

/explore/{Expedition ID} — shared live view

Everyone with the link sees the same party and map. Only party members can place pins or upload path images.

Joining an Expedition

Character, village check, and 0–3 loadout items

  • Village ruleyour character must be in the region's village (Rudania / Inariko / Vhintl). The page shows: *Your character must be in [Village]*
  • Party sizeup to 4 members · one character per player on this expedition
  • Your characterdropdown of your OCs in that village (hearts/stamina shown)
  • Items to bring0–3 optional items from that character's inventory · search or pick from list · healing/stamina stats and quantity left · counter e.g. 2/3

Report to Town Hall

Pin discoveries before you leave the square

After the expedition starts, when the progress log has reportable discoveries, the Report to town hall block appears. That's how discoveries become permanent markers on the main Map.

  • Who can pinlogged in and joined this expedition · otherwise *Log in to place* or *Party members only*
  • Unreported liste.g. H8 Q3 — "Taunhiy" Grotto with Place on map
  • Already on mappinned discoveries show Discovery pinned and won't be offered again
  • Critical*Place pins before the party moves to another square* — unmarked discoveries in the current square are cleared and lost on move
  • After expedition endsyou can still pin discoveries that were logged but never placed

How to pin

  1. Find a reportable discovery

    After the expedition starts, Discord logs appear in the Progress log. Grottos, monster camps, and ruins rest spots show under Report to town hall.

  2. Place on map

    Click Place on map for that entry. The map switches to the correct square and highlights the quadrant in amber.

  3. Click inside the quadrant

    Click inside the highlighted quadrant (e.g. Q3). Clicks outside show: *Click inside the highlighted quadrant…*

  4. Done

    The pin saves to the database, moves to Already on map, and appears on the main Map and this expedition's map.

Draw Path on Map

Download → draw → upload

When the party is in a secured quadrant (secured this expedition) and no path exists for the current square yet, the Draw path on map block appears.

  • Download square image or Download [Square] [Quadrant] quadrant — PNG of base map (and existing path if any)
  • Draw your route, save (PNG recommended)
  • Choose imageUpload path image — sends party ID, square, and quadrant to the server
  • Resultpath overlays this expedition's map and the main Map · block hides for that square after upload

Path upload steps

  1. Secure this quadrant

    In Discord, /explore secure the quadrant you are currently in — it must show secured on the dashboard (Area status).

  2. Download

    On the expedition page, use Download square image or Download [Square] [Quadrant] quadrant.

  3. Draw & save

    Draw your route in any image editor (e.g. Paint) and save as PNG.

  4. Upload

    Choose imageUpload path image. The path overlays the base map on this expedition and the main Map page.

For the full exploration map and detailed layers, visit the Tinglebot Map on the dashboard.

You can pin locations such as character homes on the main Map without being part of an expedition. Expedition pins (grottos, camps, ruin rests) flow here after Report to town hall.

Key rules

What can be pinned

Report to town hall only covers discoveries that belong on the shared map.

  • Monster campfound a camp, or chose Fight it (revisit later) · Mark and Fight are placeable
  • Grottofound, marked, or cleansed · named grottos show their name (e.g. *Taunhiy Grotto*)
  • Ruins (rest spot)only when ruins yielded a camp/rest · generic ruins finds are not placeable
  • Not placeablerelics and non-rest ruins
  • Discord blockunpinned discoveries in your current quadrant block /explore roll, move, camp, and more until pinned
  • Before you leave the squareunmarked discoveries in the current square are removed from the log when the party moves · pin them first

Path image rules

When the Draw path block appears and what it does.

  • Whenexpedition started · you are in a secured quadrant (Area status: secured) · secured this run · no path uploaded yet for this square on this expedition
  • Quadrant downloadwhen the party is in a specific quadrant, download that quadrant PNG (composited onto the square on upload)
  • One upload per squareafter success, the draw block hides for that square on this expedition (path still updates the community map)
  • Community mapuploaded paths show on the expedition map and the main Map

Troubleshooting

Common dashboard blockers

Can't create or join — login button only

Click Login with Discord on the Explore page. You need a linked Discord account on the dashboard.

Expedition expired or missing from Your expeditions

Open expeditions that were never started expire after 24 hours. Your expeditions only lists runs you created — bookmark the /explore/E123456 link if you joined someone else's party.

No characters in dropdown when joining

Move your OC to the expedition region's village (Rudania, Inariko, or Vhintl) first.

Join blocked — KO recovery or relic pipeline

Characters recovering from a full party KO cannot join for 7 days. Characters with an active relic (appraise → art → Library) must finish that pipeline first.

Join blocked — already in another expedition

Each character can only be in one open or started expedition at a time. Leave expedition on the other party first.

Couldn't start expedition — region busy

Only one started expedition per region at a time. Wait for the other party in that region to finish.

Don't see Start expedition

You must Join expedition first while status is Open. Any joined member can start — not just the link creator.

Discord won't let me roll or move

Place all unpinned discoveries in your current quadrant on the dashboard first (Report to town hall). Discord blocks explore actions until those pins are set.

Can't place a pin

Expedition must be started. Log in, join the expedition, click Place on map, then click inside the amber-highlighted quadrant — not outside it.

Discovery missing from Report to town hall

Relics and generic ruins (no rest spot) aren't placeable. Grottos dedupe to one pin per quadrant. Check the progress log on the expedition page.

No Draw path on map block

Secure your current quadrant this run via /explore secure in Discord (Area status: secured). Path upload only appears once per square per expedition after securing.

Lost a discovery after moving

Unpinned discoveries in the previous square are cleared on move. Pin before /explore move to another square.
