Rudania's Blight Bloom Defense
Overview
As the Blight Bloom swept across Hyrule, the volcanic stronghold of Rudania was next to face the surge of malice. The skies dimmed crimson and the earth trembled as a new variant of the Blight Knight emerged—this one wielding a massive malice-forged hammer and protected by cursed armor brimming with corruption. Unlike its forest counterpart, this version struck harder and targeted wider, testing the endurance of every defender who stood in its path.
The defenders of Rudania—many of them strangers until this day—fought tooth and nail to protect their scorched homeland, rallying under fire, flame, and the promise that the Blight would not take them. Not today.
Battle Highlights
- Keaton, a newcomer to Rudania, fell in battle early but was safely extracted by a fairy. Their recovery in the aftermath was marked by solemn reflection.
- Helen, ever feral, bit the Blight Knight's armor in a frenzy, bloodied and barely standing, but unwavering. Even as she collapsed, her fairy restored her to fight again—wild grin and all.
- San, a grim mercenary, fought with quiet determination. Though blighted and burning, they continued striking the Knight's weakpoints until the final blow.
- Aderyn, quiet and precise, fought through sickness and pain, her sword gradually overwhelmed with blight. Even with her body failing her, she refused to yield.
- Soruma, a towering figure among the defenders, took heavy blows and cursed wounds but remained standing to the end.
- Sahira, newly awakened to her role as Rudania's "Warlock Queen," arrived only after the battle ended—but stepped in as the unexpected healer, purging blight with growing divine light despite her inexperience.
The battle ended when the final piece of the Blight Knight's armor was shattered, revealing its core. With a coordinated flurry of attacks from San, Helen, Aderyn, and Soruma, the creature screeched and dissolved into a steaming puddle of malice.
Aftermath & Healing
What followed was chaos, pain, and uncertainty—but also the beginning of healing.
- Sahira, exhausted and shaken, stepped forward to heal her people. Though new to her powers, she removed blight from the injured one by one—Keaton, Aderyn, and others—at great personal cost.
- Aemu, Oracle of Rudania, arrived late to the battlefield. Overwhelmed by guilt and doubt, she attempted to heal San—but failed. San walked away, believing the problem lay with them—not with the Oracle.
- San quietly resolved to seek answers, wondering if the blight would someday reveal who—or what—they truly were.
- Keaton and Aderyn reflected in silence. The battle had left physical and spiritual scars, and questions about purpose, identity, and belonging began to surface among them all.
Notable Consequences
- Blight Sickness spread among many Rudanians, and its effects may linger.
- Sahira's powers began to manifest during this crisis, though they remain unstable.
- Several weapons and garments were corrupted beyond salvage, forcing their wielders to discard or destroy them.
Closing Reflection
The fires of Rudania did not falter. Though battered, broken, and brimming with pain, its people stood tall against the surge of darkness. They did not wait for heroes—they became them. And in the quiet moments after battle, as divine light flickered in trembling hands and hope stirred in wounded hearts, one truth remained:
Rudania endures.
