Companions resting in a village stable yard

Stables

Board pets and mounts on the Dashboard, share village yards, and keep companions happy with stablehand care.

Stables Overview

Board companions, share village yards, and keep happiness up

Every character can keep one active pet and one active mount at a time. Extra companions go in the stable — personal stall slots on the Dashboard that feed into a shared village yard where Stablehands provide daily care on Discord.

Most owner actions live on My Companions. Browse village yards and see who is on duty at Village Stables.

Pets and mounts share stall slots on each character — capacity is 3 / 4 / 5 by home village level, not separate pools.

Stored companions cannot use active-only commands (e.g. /pet roll or mount travel) until you retrieve them.

Quick reference

  • Store / retrieve: 100 tokens each on the Dashboard
  • Monthly board: Autopay on the 1st (Eastern) — 100 tokens/slot, scaled by happiness
  • Board debt: If autopay can't cover the full bill, the remainder accrues as debt — your token balance never goes negative
  • While in debt: Retrieve and listing stored companions are blocked until you Pay on My Companions
  • Stall capacity: 3 / 4 / 5 stored companions per character at home village levels 1 / 2 / 3
  • Village yard: Stored companions join the owner's home village yard; listed companions use the listing village
  • Daily care: Stablehands run /stable care in Discord — one roll per village per day updates every boarder there
  • Missed care: −3/day happiness if the village has stablehands · −5/day if it has none

How Stables Work

Active companions, stored boarders, and village yards

Think of stables in two layers: your character's stall slots (how many companions you can board) and the village stable yard (where boarded companions physically live for care, training, and grooming).

  • Activeequipped on your character; pets can /pet roll, mounts can /travel on mount
  • Storedboarded in your stall slots; happiness tracked on the stall; needs stablehand /stable care or owner /pet treat (pets)
  • Listed for salestill in a village yard but on the marketplace; stablehands can still care, train, and groom them
  • You cannot store a companion that is already listed for sale, or keep the same companion both active and stored
  • See Pets and Mounts for species-specific rules, taming, and trait catalogs

Dashboard — My Companions

Store, retrieve, sell, and re-register mounts

Open My Companions, pick your character, then use the stable yard tabs for stored pets and mounts.

Owner Actions

  • Retrieve (make active)100 Tokens
  • List for saleFree (auto-priced)
  • Re-register mount name20 Tokens
  1. Open My Companions and select the character who owns the companion.
  2. Click Store on an active pet or mount — 100 Tokens; moves to your home village yard and frees the active slot.
  3. Click Retrieve on a stored companion to equip it as active again (100 Tokens).
  4. Use List for sale from active or stored to post on the village marketplace.

Stall Slots & Capacity

Per character — pets and mounts share the same pool

Each character has their own stall limit based on that character's home village level. A level-2 Inariko resident with three stored pets and one stored mount is using four slots — but level 2 only allows 4 total, so the stable is full.

Stall Capacity

  • Home village level 13 stalls
  • Level 24 stalls
  • Level 35 stalls
  • One active pet and one active mount per character — separate from stall slots
  • If your home village loses a level, companions in overflow stalls become locked (no retrieve or sell) until the level recovers
  • Oldest stored companions keep accessible stalls first when slots lock
  • Raise your home village level for more slots — see Village Upgrades

Traveling or visiting another village does not change your stall capacity — it always uses your character's home village level.

Village Yards

Where boarded companions live for care

When you store a companion, it joins the stable yard of a village. All stored and for-sale companions in that village share one yard — any Stablehand whose home village matches can work on them.

  • Stored companions → owner's home village yard
  • Listed for salelisted village yard (where you put them on the market)
  • One /stable care roll per village per day updates every boarder in that yard
  • Browse yards and on-duty stablehands at Village Stables
  • Full stablehand rules: Stablehands job guide

Happiness & Daily Care

0–100 scale · affects fees, training, and decay

Stored companions default to 70 happiness when boarded. Happiness affects monthly board fees, stablehand commission, and whether training runs (40+ required).

Happiness Tiers

  • 80+Happy
  • 60–79Content
  • 40–59Restless
  • Below 40Unhappy — training skipped
  • Stablehand care/stable care once per village per day; nat 20 gives Loved 💖 (+3 happiness)
  • Owner treats/pet treat on stored pets (+1 per treat item)
  • Missed careif no stablehand cared yesterday: −3/day (village has stablehands) or −5/day (no stablehands on duty)
  • Active pets and mounts have separate happiness rules — see Pets → Happiness

Fees & Monthly Billing

Store/retrieve costs and happiness-scaled board fees

On the 1st of each month (Eastern), the system automatically deducts board fees from your token balance for each stored slot from the previous month. Base fee: 100 tokens per slot, adjusted by average happiness that month.

If you don't have enough tokens for the full bill, it pays what it can and records the remainder as board debt. Your balance never goes negative — unpaid amounts sit on board debt instead. While you owe board debt, you cannot retrieve stored companions or list stored companions for sale until you clear it on My Companions.

Monthly Board (per stored slot)

  • 80+ avg happiness (Excellent)100 Tokens (100%)
  • 60–79 (Good)100 Tokens (100%)
  • 40–59 (Neglected)50 Tokens (50%)
  • Below 40 (Poor)0 Tokens — grace month
  • On the 15th, owners averaging below 50 happiness may get a warning that fees could drop
  • Paying off board debtOn My Companions, a warning banner shows how much you owe — click Pay to deduct tokens and clear the debt; retrieve and list work again after that
  • Stablehands earn monthly commission (meta tokens) from board fees when they care consistently — see Stablehands → Board & Pay and Pay & RP

Stablehand Services

Discord /stable commands — not done from the Dashboard

Characters with the permanent Stablehand job care for village yards on Discord. Owners fund training and grooming by gifting items via /economy gift.

Stablehand wages and commission are meta player tokens — automatic rewards for doing the job. In RP, stablehands are traditionally paid through goods and services between players; see Stablehands → Pay & RP.

  • /stable trainLevel mounts / train stored pets (needs 40+ happiness)

Common Problems & Fixes

Full stalls, locked slots, and happiness drops

Can't retrieve — unpaid board fees

Monthly board autopays on the 1st. If you didn't have enough tokens, the unpaid portion became board debt (your balance never went negative). Open My Companions, use Pay on the debt banner, then retrieve or list stored companions.

Your stable is full

Capacity is 3 / 4 / 5 stalls at home village levels 1 / 2 / 3. Retrieve, sell, or raise your home village level.

Locked stall — can't retrieve or sell

Home village level dropped while companions were stored. Locked companions stay until your village reaches the required level again.

Stored pet happiness dropped overnight

No stablehand in your village ran /stable care yesterday. Ask a stablehand to care daily, or use /pet treat on stored pets.

Can't travel on mount

Your mount may be stored in the stable. Retrieve it on the Dashboard first, or use on-foot travel.

Can't store while listed for sale

Remove the marketplace listing first, or retrieve if already stored elsewhere.

Training skipped for stored pet

Stall happiness must be 40+. Improve care or treat the pet; stablehand needs owner-gifted training items in inventory.

Wrong village for groom or care

Stablehands only work companions in their home village yard. Stored → owner's home village; listed → listing village.
