Job Perk: Looting

Active job perk — encounter monsters with /loot in your village Town Hall. Win the fight to loot items from the monster's drop table.

What Is Looting?

Daily monster fights for adventurers, mercenaries, scouts, and more

Looting is an active Job Perk for Roots of the Wild. Characters with the LOOTING perk can roll daily monster encounters based on job and village region, then fight automatically for loot, damage, or both.

Use /loot in Discord from your character's Town Hall channel. Wins add items to your OC's inventory — same database as gathering, crafting, and trades.

Jobs with this perk

  • Adventurer
  • Mercenary
  • Graveskeeper
  • Guard
  • Scout
  • Hunter

Quick reference

  • Discord only: /loot charactername:[OC] in the Town Hall for your character's current village (Rudania, Inariko, or Vhintl)
  • Channel only: Unlike /gather, looting checks the correct Town Hall channel — your OC does not need to be physically in that village
  • Job + region pool: Monsters are chosen from tables for your job and the region tied to the Town Hall village
  • Daily limit: One gather or loot per OC per day — /gather and /loot share the same slot (resets 8 AM Eastern)
  • Daily timing: For normal users, the daily slot is claimed before the encounter roll — No Encounter (~20% / ~10% Blood Moon) still uses today's slot
  • Job voucher: Bypasses the daily limit; deactivates after a finished combat loot run or a successful Blood Moon raid trigger
  • Stage 4+ blight: Characters at blight stage 4 or higher cannot loot (same flag as gathering)
  • Hunter note: Hunter has GATHERING and LOOTING/gather for materials, /loot for combat loot (one daily slot total)

What Looting Does

Daily monster encounters by job and region

Each looting job pulls from different monster tables across Hyrule's regions. Your Town Hall village sets the region for the encounter list.

  • Win (`canLoot`)Weighted loot from the monster's drop table added to inventory — includes clean wins, defense blocks, and other winning roll bands
  • Lose / partialYou may take heart damage, receive a temporary buff or debuff, or get KO'd without loot
  • No Encounter~20% on normal days, ~10% during Blood Moon — special embed; your daily slot is still used (non-voucher)
  • Stage 3 blightMonsters ignore you — special no-encounter embed; daily slot already consumed
  • Blight stage 21.5× combat dice multiplier on your loot roll (still fightable)
  • Gear & elementsEquipped weapon/armor stats can affect combat rolls; elemental weapon matchups vs the monster can help or hurt
  • Monster follow-backOn a damaging loss vs tier 1–4 foes, a 12.5% chance the monster follows you home and deals 1–3 HP village damage
  • See Monsters for tiers, families, and drop tables

How to Use /loot

Discord · Town Hall channel

  • Checks your character's job, village, and LOOTING perk
  • Picks a monster for your job + region and resolves combat automatically
  • Loots items when the outcome allows canLoot and posts results to your inventory database
  • Claims the shared gather/loot daily slot before the encounter (resets 8 AM Eastern) — unless a job voucher or mod OC bypasses it

Fight Monsters & Loot

Run this in your character's village Town Hall. The bot validates job, channel, cooldown, and status before rolling an encounter.

Discord command

/loot charactername:[your OC]

  • characternamePick your OC from autocomplete — must belong to you
  • Bot validates LOOTING perk and that you're in the Town Hall for your OC's current village
  • Rolls a monster encounter for your job + region, then runs combat dice in the background
  • On canLoot victory, loots from the monster's weighted drop table (Chuchu → jelly by element/size; Like Like wins have a 25% bonus chest item)
  • Adds loot to your inventory database and posts a result embed with hearts remaining
  • Claims your shared gather/loot daily slot after validations pass but before the encounter — unless a job voucher or mod OC is active

Before You Start

Checks the bot runs automatically

  • CharacterCreated OC you own, with a valid job that includes LOOTING (or an active voucher into one)
  • ChannelThat OC's current village Town Hall — wrong channel fails (physical travel not required)
  • HeartsNot KO'd (currentHearts === 0)
  • JailNot serving jail time
  • BlightNot stage 4 or higher (advanced blight blocks looting — bot message may say "gather")
  • DebuffNo active debuff — the embed shows remaining duration if one is active
  • Daily slotHaven't already gathered or looted today — unless using a job voucher

Daily Cooldown

Shared gather/loot window

  • Once per day per character for /gather or /loot combined
  • Resets at 8:00 AM Eastern (America/New_York — handles EST and EDT automatically)
  • The limit embed shows the exact Discord timestamp for your next available roll
  • Important/loot claims the daily slot before the encounter — No Encounter, stage 3 blight, and missing region still count for non-voucher users
  • Not consumedKO, jail, debuff, stage 4+ blight, wrong channel, and other early validation failures happen before the daily slot is claimed
  • Job voucherBypasses the daily limit; deactivates after completed combat processing or a successful Blood Moon raid trigger — not on validation failures or failed raid setup
  • Mod characters skip the daily limit (staff OCs)

Blight Rain

Infection risk while looting

If Blight Rain is active in your village when you /loot, the bot rolls infection before the encounter.

  • 75% base chance of new blight infection if you aren't already blighted
  • Already blightedNo change — you still loot, with a flavor message
  • Elixir resistanceBright Elixir and similar buffs reduce infection chance (each resistance level −30%, clamped between 10% and 95%) and may be consumed on use
  • Mod characters and certain immune accounts skip infection
  • New infections are logged and applied automatically — see Blight for stages and healing

Blood Moon Encounters

Stronger monsters and raid bosses

  • During an active Blood Moon, /loot always uses the Blood Moon encounter table (not the normal daily pool)
  • Tier 5+ monsters trigger a multi-player raid instead of solo combat — join the raid channel to fight
  • Tier 1–4 monsters still resolve through normal /loot combat with Blood Moon flavor
  • Raid trigger success deactivates an active job voucher and clears Looting-category boosts (other boost categories are preserved)
  • Failed raid setup (e.g. raid cooldown) does not consume the voucher — but non-voucher users already spent today's slot
  • No Encounter is still possible on Blood Moon — daily slot already consumed for normal users
  • See Blood Moons for schedule and raid details

During Lightning Storm weather, there is a 30% chance of a −1 heart lightning strike on /loot (and similar outdoor commands). Combat elixirs (Fiery, Chilly, Electric, etc.) and Sticky Elixir can modify loot encounters — the embed shows when one triggers.

Village Level Bonuses

Higher-level home villages improve combat and loot

  • Level 1Standard combat rolls and loot weights
  • Level 2+1–3 combat dice bonus; 5–10% damage reduction on hits; +10–15% weight toward rarer loot (rarity 3–5); 5–10% chance for +1 extra loot item
  • Level 3+3–5 combat dice bonus; 10–15% damage reduction on hits; +20–30% weight toward rarer loot (rarity 3–7); 10–15% chance for +1 extra item, 2–3% for +2 extras
  • Bonuses use the village where your character currently lives when looting
  • See Village Upgrades for how levels are earned

Looting Boosts

Temporary perks from other jobs

Accepted Looting-category boosts from /boosting modify combat and loot. Only Looting boosts are consumed on loot — Crafting, Gathering, Healers, and other categories stay active.

  • Fortune Teller — Fated RerollIf the first combat outcome dealt damage, the bot rerolls once for a potentially better result
  • Teacher — Combat Insight+20% on your loot combat roll (×1.2)
  • Priest — Divine BlessingGuarantees the highest-rarity item on the monster's weighted loot table
  • Entertainer — Requiem of SpiritReduces incoming damage by ⌈tier ÷ 2⌉ hearts (works in raids too); can flip a hit into a canLoot win if damage drops to 0
  • Scholar — Double HaulDoubles quantity on the primary loot item
  • Looting-category boosts clear after a finished combat embed or successful Blood Moon raid trigger — other boost categories stay active

Job Vouchers

Second loot in one day

Activate a job voucher on a character whose permanent job lacks LOOTING, then /loot using the vouchered job. The voucher bypasses the daily limit for that action.

  • Voucher must be active before the command — mid-activation blocks loot with a wait message
  • Voucher deactivates automatically after completed combat loot processing or a successful Blood Moon raid trigger
  • Early validation failures (wrong channel, KO'd, invalid job) do not consume the voucher
  • No Encounter or stage 3 blight results do not deactivate the voucher — but you still get no loot
  • See Jobs & Vouchers for activation and eligible jobs

Common Problems & Fixes

When /loot fails or the daily slot is used up

Character not found

Spell the name exactly and confirm you own the OC. Mod OCs must belong to your account.

Wrong Town Hall channel

Use the Town Hall for your OC's current village (currentVillage). Unlike /gather, you don't need to be physically there — but the channel must match that village.

Already gathered or looted today

Wait until the next 8 AM Eastern reset (the embed shows the time) or activate a job voucher for another loot.

KO'd, jailed, debuffed, or stage 4+ blight

Heal, serve jail time, wait out the debuff timer, or seek blight healing from an Oracle or Dragon before looting again.

Job can't loot / missing perk

Only LOOTING jobs (or a voucher into one) work. See the jobs list above — Adventurer, Mercenary, Graveskeeper, Guard, Scout, Hunter.

No Encounter — wasted my daily?

Yes for normal users — /loot claims the daily slot before rolling (~20% chance on normal days, ~10% on Blood Moon). A job voucher bypasses the daily limit so you can try again the same day.

Blood Moon raid failed to start

Raid cooldown or setup errors block the raid — your voucher is not consumed, but non-voucher users already spent today's slot. Try again after cooldown or wait for the next reset.

Job voucher activation in progress

Wait a moment after using /item on the voucher, then run /loot again.
